Analytical chemistry / Astrobiology
We are trying to develop microanalysis for biological molecules and complex high molecular organic matter, and tying to approach Earth and planetary science, life science, and environmental science with it.
Among them, we focus our attention to research project related with Astrobiology including origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe and the Earth.
Current Research
Origins of Life
a) Analysis and synthesis of biological molecules in simulated primitive Earth
environment
b) Analysis and synthesis of organic matter in simulated space environment
c) Analysis of organic matter in extraterrestrial samples
Distribution of Life
d) Research on detection method of microbial activity under extreme
environment within or out of the Earth environment
